to the discretion of the director. For High School Class,
one of the selections must be a "son jalisciense".
- "Poppurri's" (Medleys) are allowed as long
as the second selection is a "son jalisciense"
or if your "popurri" contains "sones jaliscienses",
the second selection must be of another style. One of
the selections must include vocals or "coros".
- All music should be memorized in
all competition classes. No sheet music will be allowed.
Jr.High/Middle School and Novice directors may conduct
the ensemble, however, High School Ensembles are required
to perform without Directors. High School
directors may set microphones and "warm-up"
the ensemble but must leave the stage prior to the performance.
- The Maximum "on Stage" time is: 25
minutes for High School and 20 minutes for
Jr.High/Middle School. This includes entry, on-stage
warm-up, performance, clinic and exit. Stage Set-up
time is Not included in On-Stage
Time.
- A pre-performance warm-up room will be provided 30
minutes prior to your performance time. This time includes
entering, warm-up and exiting.
- Directors are not required to provide
scores of the repertoire performed, but may do so if
they desire. If scores are provided, please provide three
(3)scores with measures numbered for each selection performed.
Photo copies are not permitted without a note from the
publisher.
- Mariachis are expected to present themselves in some
sort of traditional "mariachi traje"
(uniform) or Mariachi attire such as same shirts, ties,
boots, etc.
- Musicfest Orlando will provide a Sound System with
microphones.
Instrumentation

B. 2 Trumpets
C. 1 Guitarron

the base instrumentation, provided they are part of the
Traditional Instrument list.
- Solo singers that do not play an instrument are allowed
to perform, but are to be counted in the total number
of students in the ensemble. During the performance,
solo singers are permitted move about the stage, but
may not leave the stage or go into the audience area.
- Non-traditional instruments such as flutes, accordians,
marimbas, may be included for special effects but cannot
substitute for the above traditional list. (i.e flutes
